At the edge of the Atlantic Ocean between Scotland and Norway are the Shetland Islands. Here, on a quiet January afternoon in a small fisherman’s hut, on the harbour of an ancient village, Mackerel Editions was born.

Inspired by maritime folklore, song and storytelling, Mackerel Editions is an independent publishing studio that celebrates human experience and imagination in printed form. 

We specialise in lyrics, poetry and short stories, producing beautiful pocket-sized books that showcase the work of emerging and established artists, writers and musicians. If you would like to see your work in print then we would love to hear from you.
